Organizing your keywords effectively can make it easier to gather the data you need and get better insights into how your brand is doing online.

Keyword Groups

Keyword groups are the smallest containers for keywords and should be used like categories.

Use groups to organize keywords within your keyword set to get the most out of Nozzle.

For example, if you are a pet store, you may want to make keyword groups for dog, cat, gerbil, collar, kennel, etc.

Any keyword can be added to multiple keyword groups.

Here is why you should you take the time to create descriptive keyword groups:

  • Sometimes it's more effective to see how a themed group is performing rather than trying to parse dozens of very similar keywords manually.
  • Comparing your keywords groups to each other or to the competition can provide more insights.
  • You can filter by group using the Keyword Group dropdown on any dashboard.
  • The Keyword Groups dashboard makes it easy to get the bigger picture on these groups.

To request a PAA Content Idea Report, use the demo form: name the location to search from and link a spreadsheet of up to 10,000 keywords, or paste a list of a few hundred into the message. Keyword groups are optional, but if you include them, the report shows which groups trigger the most PAA boxes.

Keyword Sets

Keyword sets are larger containers for keywords.

You will only need to create different keyword sets when you have different keyword sets that you want to track on different schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) or if you want to use different keyword modes.

You can filter by keyword set using the Keyword Group dropdown on any dashboard and further analyze them on the Keyword Groups dashboard.

Projects

Projects are the largest containers for keywords and are meant for different campaigns, clients, or entities that you want separate from others.

You won't be able to compare data from different projects in the same table or chart in Nozzle, but it's easy to switch between projects by clicking on the project name at the top left of any dashboard.

You can also view summaries for all your projects on the Nozzle home screen.

If you are an SEO agency, we recommend creating a separate project for each of your clients.

Otherwise, you can generally use either Sets or Groups to organize and track your keywords.
